The Story of the Bühlmann Family
In 1960, charismatic Hugo Jensen comes to North Jutland with his wife Aloisia Bühlmann, who was born in Switzerland. They came to Aalborg to manage the then ultramodern and nationally known eatery Motel Aalborg on the old manor Scheelsminde.

Family business for 3 generations
In 1979, Aloisia and Hugo’s son, Peter and his wife Mona Jensen, took over the hotel and began to build what has today become the manor hotel Scheelsminde.
Today Peter and Mona’s daughter Anemette Bühlmann heads the family buisness together with her husband Danni Bühlmann. The family now runs 6 hotels in Jutland, and is also behind an extensive conference company with a focus on unique settings, good gastronomy and green sustainability.
And with the 4th generation on the way – to both protect and challenge the traditions of the place – the Bühlmann family will also in the years to come be able to offer its guests care, traditions and gastronomy in stately surroundings, helped by a staff of skilled waiters, chefs and other service staff.
The golden Bühlmann heart with the Swiss flag in the middle symbolizes the family’s core values: care, flexibility, presence, passion and respect for people and the environment.
